This past weekend we had our wonderfully fun friends the Masons come to visit. We first met in Boston before Avery was even born. Over the years we've had some serious bonding times with this family, whether it was camping in Vermont, watching Broadway plays and pounding the streets of New York, attending baptisms at Mt. Hope, Halloween parties at the Packers, birthday celebrations at the Shortells, fireworks and sand sculptures at Revere beach, checking out cranberry bogs or experiencing the Happiest Place on Earth with Disney's biggest fans. Whatever it is, you can be we have a great time when we get together. This weekend was no different.
It was so much fun to have them here and we tried to pack as much as we could into less than 48 hours. The weekend resulted in even more bonding experiences had by all.
There was tide pool bonding-
Brother/sister bonding-
Boy bonding-
There was bonding going at Old Town-
Princess sleepover bonding-
(where they did indeed sleep snuggled up in the same bed, partly because it was fun and partly because Avery had to prove me wrong. I told her there wasn't enough space and one or both of them would end up falling off but my challenge made it even more desirable and they did it. Both nights.)
There was bonding going at Old Town-And some Bunker bonding on Mt. Soledad-
Lots and lots 3 year old bonding (see prior post for more proof)-

Daddy bonding-

Mormon Battalion bonding-
Bonding over Casa de Guadalajara's pure deliciousness-
(with the added bonus of the mariachi band entertaining the kiddies)
And pretty sure there was some serious bonding going on with Jared and his dinner that night-

Since sometimes it's difficult to keep up friendships after you're apart, even with the best intentions, we're so grateful that we can still have these bonding moments with these wonderful friends so we can still stay so close to them. It's even better that our kids are such great friends too, minus the water works when it was time to say goodbye. That part was a bit emotional, even for Austin who started pouting. Thank goodness for Disneyland because where there's Disnyeland, there's the Masons and where there's the Masons, you're bound to find the Bunkers too. I'm sure we'll be seeing them again, hopefully sooner than later. We love you Masons!

So fun! We miss the Bunkers and the Masons. I want it to be our turn next! We just got back from Boston. I still miss everything (okay almost everything) about it!
