It's no deep, dark secret.
We Bunkers LOVE Halloween!
Which is perhaps why our house begins to look like this
BEFORE October has even official arrived.
Decorations? We have a few.
ANY WAY
&
ANY WHERE
we can.
Seriously.
We celebrate it at Disneyland:

We celebrate it when we cook:
(check it out, Austin's first pie he made [almost] all by himself
Cute as a pumpkin.

and at every meal:
(not shown our special black dishes, skeleton goblets...you get the idea)
We celebrate it with cousins:

and with wicked aunts and elusive uncles:
We celebrate it with Halloween crafts:
(here's the aftermath of one of them, it's like a spray tan gone horribly wrong)
We celebrate it with costumes:

And with costume parties:

We celebrate it by decorating:
And with [nearly] nightly ghost stories
...by candlelight
...with crazy Halloween sound effects in the background
(The scary sounds aren't a huge hit with the kids, nor is the story "the Hook,"hence the recent nightly visits we've had. Serves us right.)
Had to take the picture in the light, sorry you're missing the true effect. This way you can catch a glimpse of our demon dog outside.
New this year, we now celebrate it with black lights and a strobe light.
This is what it looked like when I came home from mutual tonight, only this doesn't capture how the kids were silently hiding out in their pitch black rooms trying not to giggle and Jared was waiting for me, slowly rocking back and forth on the glider in the darknessr with a flashing skeleton head where his should have been to greet me.
Welcome to daily life at the Bunkers.
Even our dog celebrates it by making new friends for the occasion:
As does our son apparently.
Meet his pets "Carsy" the Bat and
"Zabbadubbadia" the Spider/Fly
("It's NOT a fly, it's a spider with wings.")
Where he goes, they go.
And I mean that.
(Kinda hoping these pets are seasonal,
could get awkward come Christmas time with those two in tow)
come on over to our haunted abode.
For extra cool points- wear a costume.
